I HAVE a keen interest in the subject of biotechnology and I appreciate what your paper is doing on this important matter. I urge you to keep it up.
However, I feel you are missing a point especially in the lead stories.
The June issue had a headline on the dispute between Europe and US on GMOs debate while the July led with the story on the setting up of a biotechnology outreach society in Zambia . As a journalist, I understand the issue of proximity and novelty, but I feel for a Kenya based paper you are duty bound to feature local issues as your lead stories to capture the local readership and sell more.
No matter how significant the EU-US crash or Zambia biotech group is, the subjects fail to capture the imagination of local readers.
